Assistant Professor: Youth Studies
The Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies seeks a Chicano/a-Latino/a Youth Studies specialist who can advance our strong focus on gender, borders, and social justice at the rank of assistant professor. We seek an intersectional and interdisciplinary scholar whose research concentrates on any of the following subject areas and intersects with at least one of our foci: education, health, immigration, war, racialization, citizenship and rights discourse, political/social movements, youth cultures, sexuality, criminalization, childhood, and disability studies. The candidate should be prepared to teach general education and specialization courses and be able to address race/ethnicity, culture(s), subjectivities, problems and risks, hopes and aspirations and what these look like from the positionality of youth. An earned doctorate in any humanities or social science field is required and a Chicano/a or Ethnic Studies Ph.D. is preferred.
